Pages people want to read

We design magazines, newsletters, yearbooks, reports and business plans, from planning the pages to the final print file: the layout, the cover, each section and every page, checked. Many contributors, one publication

A school magazine, a yearbook or an annual report arrives as articles from many writers, photos from many phones and a fixed deadline. Magazine design turns that into one voice on the page: text styled consistently, photos cropped and colour-corrected, and every section built on the same grid.

How the pages come together

Adverts are placed at each advertiser’s size and checked against the page plan, so the paid pages land where they were sold.

A cover that sells the issue

The cover carries the publication’s name, the lead story and one strong photo, set to read from across a room and to stand out in a stack.

Photos that print well

Phone photos print well when they arrive at full size. A full-page photo needs about 300 pixels per inch at print size, roughly 2480 by 3508 pixels for an A4 page. We sort the photos, correct colour and exposure, and flag any that need a reshoot while there is still time to take it.

Ready for the next issue

Each publication comes with its InDesign files and a reusable template, so the next issue, a newsletter layout or next year’s annual report design starts from the same look. Books go through Book layout and Book covers, and printing through Cards & print.
